Description
During the Second World War, perhaps the most far-reaching effect of the war was rationing, central to which was food. With a reduction in food supplies, it became necessary to educate the population on the importance of a well-balanced diet. Posters such as this one were produced by entities such as the Ministry of Food (colloquially known as the 'Food Office') to help the general population better understand healthy eating practices such as what foods contained which vitamins, and the different effects on the body of eating certain foods.
