Description

Two diaries (1916-1918), including poems, written by 6080 Private Reynold Cleve Potter, 21 Battalion, covering his active service on the Western Front, his wounding in April 1918 and convalescence in England. Also included in the collection are: two photocopies of original items held by the Mitchell Library in Sydney; Private Potter's shorthand notebook (dated 17 August 1918) and a copy of a 'fourth' diary covering the period 14 August 1918 to 16 January 1919; a published selection of his diary extracts and poetry, 'Not Theirs the Shame Who Fight' (edited by Stephen Matthews, 1999) and a CD-ROM containing transcriptions of the two diaries in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
