Description

Four unidentified members of the Royal Observer Corps (ROC) listen to Sergeant Norm Martin of Sydney, NSW (seated in the cockpit of the Vampire aircraft) as he explains how to fly the aircraft. The ROC was a volunteer force of civilians who contributed to the defence of Britain by spotting and reporting the movements of enemy aircraft. Members were attending an annual air display at the RAF Station in Norfolk. 78 Fighter Wing RAAF, which was temporarily based at the station, took part in the display.
