RAAF and RAF Regiment troops defending an airfield near Cologne, West Germany. One man is scanning the sky with binoculars while two others operate a Bofors anti aircraft gun. The were participating in the week long NATO exercise Operation Coronet, which was the biggest and most realistic aerial manoeuvre held in Europe since the end of the Second World War. In addition to servicing the planes, 78 Fighter Wing RAAF carried out airfield defence duties.
