Australian High Commissioner Sir Thomas White (left) chats with Squadron Leader Vic Banks at El Alamein War Cemetery, burial place of Commonwealth troops who died in the Western Desert campaign between July and November 1942. Sqn Ldr Banks commanded a contingent from 78 Fighter Wing RAAF that attended a ceremony at the cemetery. The Wing was stationed in Malta for garrison duty.
