The cost of preventable sickness
Description
This Australian Army-issued Second World War poster was produced to highlight the cumulative effect of preventable illness. The poster highlights that just one man in hospital from each corps at a certain point in time adds up to a whole battalion when these numbers are combined. The poster stresses the importance of preventing avoidable sickness and implicitly highlights the importance of keeping the fighting force healthy.
