In the blackout: to hail a bus or tram shine a torch on your hand
Description
British Second World War poster commissioned by London Transport to assist commuters to travel safely during blackouts. The image of a gloved hand in torchlight indicates a method of hailing trams or buses at night during blackout. The title is separate and positioned in the upper quarter, in white outlined grey, in red and in black. The text is partially integrated and placed in the lower quarter, in black. The London Transport emblem is located in the lower right.
