Outdoor portrait of SX7429 Corporal (Cpl) James Hinson DCM, 2/48 Battalion, of Plympton, SA (originally of Manchester, England). Cpl Hinson enlisted on 2 July 1940 at Adelaide, SA. He was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) on 24 September 1942. He was killed in action at El Alamein on 31 October 1942. Note that his is wearing his DCM ribbon.
