Ten million new members by Christmas: Join the Red Cross...
Description
An American Red Cross Society poster issued to recruit new members during 1918. Designed by L.N Britton it features a lighted candle in a window illuminating a Red Cross service flag. In the background is a Christmas tree. The image is positioned in the centre and set against a black background as if the viewer is observing the house at night. The title text printed in grey, red and yellow runs from top to bottom above and below the image. Another landscape version of this design was also produced.
