Pilot Officer (PO) Jake Newham of Cowra, NSW is shown just before he steps into the cockpit of his Vampire fighter aircraft to take part in a NATO mock air battle over Malta. PO Newham was stationed in Malta with 78 Fighter Wing RAAF, which participated in various NATO exercises while undertaking garrison duties in the Mediterranean.
