Description
Papers of Major Frank Cochran and his sister Mabel Cochran, 1897-1918. Collection comprises an extensive series of letters exchanged between the Cochrans while Major Cochran was in South Africa in 1897. Mabel owned a business in Melbourne and sent letters to her brother throughout the First World War during his service with the South African Army. Other correspondence includes letters to Mabel from soldiers in the Australian Imperial Force in Egypt, thanking her for sending Christmas gifts, 1916-1917.
