Description

Damaged 9 Squadron RAAF Bell UH Iroquois number helicopter number A2-110 resting on coastal mudflats after making an emergency landing. A US Army Iroquois has just landed in the rear with squadron ground crew to assist with the recovery. Note the side mounted M60 machine guns on the damaged helicopter. The marks were made on landing. One can see where the helicopter made contact with the mud, bounced then the skids dug in and the mud splayed where the belly made contact. The crew was winched out to a small island then picked up by a UH, and transported to the air base at Vung Tau.
