Description
The Prime Minister (PM) of Australia, the Honourable R J Hawke, shaking hands with an unidentified RAN Captain. The PM and an official party were at a Brisbane wharf to welcome back to Australia the RAN Adelaide Class guided missile frigate (FFG) HMAS Sydney. Sydney had just returned from service in the Persian Gulf and was part of Australia's commitment to the Coalition Forces during the Gulf War.
