Description
Unidentified Australian soldiers and their Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV) stopped in a Dili Street during an armed patrol. Members of the International Force for East Timor (INTERFET) the men are wearing full combat equipment and carrying Steyr F88c rifles. The ASLAV Personnel Carrier variant had a crew of two and could carry seven troops. A 12.7mm machine gun (MG) is mounted at the crew commanders station at the left front of the vehicle. They are all wearing armour plate vests including the crew member to the left of the MG.
