Description
Two unidentified women relatives being hugged by an unidentified RAN sailor on a Brisbane wharf. The two were part of a large crowd of relatives, friends and an official party headed by the Prime Minister of Australia the Honourable R J Hawke, there to welcome back to Australia the RAN Adelaide Class guided missile frigate (FFG) HMAS Sydney. The Sydney had just returned from service in the Persian Gulf as part of Australia's commitment to the Coalition Forces during the Gulf War.
