Description
Studio portrait of 4453 Driver (Dvr) Harry Hills, 6th Reinforcements, 2nd Field Artillery Brigade, of Beaumaris, Vic (originally of Deptford, England). Dvr Hills enlisted on 27 March 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Berrima in Melbourne on 28 June 1915. On 21 August 1917, aged twenty one, he was killed in action in Ypres whilst serving with the 13th Field Artillery Brigade. He had emigrated to Australia, aged seventeen, to become a farmer.
