The Moratorium symbol appears on the lower left of the poster. John Kaputin is a veteran politician and peace negotaitor in Papua New Guinea politics. In 1972 he was a founding member of the Melanesian Alliance Party which had as its goals the maintaining and reinforcing of Melanesian values, women's rights and decentalisation. It also had (and has) a reputation for being an intellectual's party. In 2001 the Melanesian Allience amalgamated with National Alliance. As a politician, the Honorable Sir John Kaputin KBE CMG MP, as he is now known, has served in various ministries within the New Guinean government including, most recently, Special Envoy on Multilateral Financial Relationships, Minister for Information and Communication, Special State Navigator (in 1999) and Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2000. He has also brokered peace negotiations in Bougainville.
