Description

US Army jungle green tropical full-length trousers worn in Vietnam by a member of US forces. The trousers are made of wind-resistant cotton poplin and fly closure is by five buttons, four being concealed and the topmost one exposed. The ankle cuffs may be adjusted by means of drawstrings sewn into the lower hems, which emerge through two cotton reinforced buttonholes. A small pleat has been stitched at each side of the knee to facilitate bending. The waistband has seven belt loops as well as a small black metal buckle at each hip connected to faded black cotton tapes for adjustment. There are two side pockets with no fastenings, two internal rear pockets, each having an external flap secured by a single concealed green plastic button, and two large external, pleated, expanding pockets located on the upper thighs. These pockets have external flaps secured by two concealed buttons, the inner edge of each flap being stitched down to prevent snagging on obstacles. A white cotton label sewn under the inner rear waistband contains the words 'REGULAR MEDIUM WAIST: FROM 31 TO 35 INCHES. INSEAM: 29 1/2 TO 32 1/2 INCHES. STOCK NO: 8405-082-5560'. A white cotton label sewn to the lining of the right rear pocket contains instructions for care and usage. The trousers are in well worn condition, with a pair of irregular holes (4cm and 1.5cm approximately) to the left of the right rear pocket, and a small circular hole above the left knee.
