Technologically the Vietnam War has been a great sucess
Description
One of the most striking posters throughout the Moratorium movement was this poster, produced by the Queensland Vietnam Moratorium Campaign Co-ordinating Committee. The use of a quote from American General Westmoreland brings into question the ethics and priorities of the American participation in the war.
This poster is aimed at creating a sense of empathy for the Vietnamese people, with a view to creating further opposition to the war. This use of dramatic, confronting imagery depicting possible war crimes was one common tactic of the Moratorium movement, bringing into question the legitimacy and morality of the war. This poster questions – ‘at what human cost was this technological success?’
