Engraved cigarette case sent to photographer Harold Cazneaux by William Fell, AIF
Description
Silver cigarette case with side hinge and spring clasp. The front is engraved with a winged man bordered below and to the right by Egyptian hieroglyphic patterns. The reverse is engraved with the words 'Souvenir from Egypt to Harold Cazneaux 10 Riley St. North Sydney From William Fell A.I.F. 1915'. Inside the case are two elastic straps on each side to hold the cigarettes in place.
History / Summary
This case was sent to the photographer Harold Cazneaux in 1915 by William Fell, Australian Imperial Forces. Fell was Cazneaux's associate and photographic pupil.
