Description
Informal portrait of Honore (Henri) 'Digger' Tovell on a motorcycle. This is the motorcycle he was riding when he was killed on 24 May 1928. After leaving school, Henri (Digger) Tovell worked initially with his adoptive father in Brisbane, then for the RAAF in Melbourne as a civilian mechanic. He was waiting until he turned 18 to enlist, but was killed in a motorcycle accident in Melbourne prior to enlisting.
