Collection consists of: Leslie's flying log book documenting his training and missions over Germany with 44 Squadron and 463 Squadron (1942-1944); twenty-three letters Leslie wrote to his mother (1942-1943); sixteen telegrams sent by Leslie (1943-1944; one telegram reporting Leslie missing in action (1944); one letter to (1943) and one letter from (1944) Mabel Burley; one letter to Paul Christensen (1942); three sympathy letters (1944-1945); telegram, leaflet and other documentation from RAAF relating to Leslie's death; two letters fron 463 Squadron and Casualty Section Department of Air confirming Leslie's death; two letters re enquiry about photographs of Leslie with one photograph of leslie's grave in Germany; letter and documents re Leslie's effects; two letters re application for release of Leslie's flying log book; and letter re the burial details of Leslie in German.

Biographical note: 409721 Flying Officer Alan James Durham Leslie, 463 Squadron, RAAF, of Sale, Victoria. Flying Officer Leslie was attached to 44 Squadron, RAF, in the United Kingdom. He was killed on 27 January 1944 whilst on operations. Flying Officer Leslie is buried in the Parish Cemetery at Waltersdorf in Teltow District, Germany.
