Informal portrait of 31932 Private (Pte) Ian 'Robbie' Robertson, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR). Pte Robertson, a member of the 3RAR sniper section is standing in front of a traditional Korean farm house, he is wearing a United States Army issue jacket and is holding a .303 inch SMLE No. 1 MkIII*(HT) Lee Enfield rifle fitted with 3-power (3X) Pattern 1918 (Australian) telescopic sight. It is a copy of the British Pattern 1918 sniper scope, manufactured by the Australian Optical Company, Melbourne, in 1944. This particular scope is fitted with a medium bracket or high mount. The rifle is fully cocked.
