Description
Studio portrait of 4624 Private (Pte) Gerald Leslie Stewart, 7th Reinforcements, 1st Field Artillery Brigade, of North Sydney, NSW. Pte Stewart enlisted on 24 March 1915 and embarked aboard RMS Persia in Sydney on 10 August 1915. He was killed in action on 14 November 1916 at Flers, France. His death is commemorated at the Villers Bretonneux Memorial in France. Note he is holding a riding crop behind his back and wearing a slouch hat. See also DA09732A.
