Wiseman, Harry Conolly MID (Temporary Captain, d.1942)
Description
Copies of 4 letters written between October and November 1942 by Temporary Captain Harry Wiseman of 2/1 Battalion to his friend 'Sid'. Composed on active service in New Guinea the correspondence provides a graphic descrition of living and fighting conditions. A copy of a fifth letter written by 'Sid' from Port Moresby records the details of T/Capt Wiseman's death in action near Buna on 21 November 1942.
