Salute the Soldier
Description
This British Second World War poster depicts an artillery crew manning a gun, with a large expanse of sky in the centre and upper half of the poster, and the title along the top edge. This is one of a series of posters by Harold Pym designed to boost morale on the home front and pay tribute to soldiers engaging in front line action.The Salute the Soldier campaign (1944) was national in its scope and aimed to raise money to fund equipement for the armed forces using National Savings contributions. Every town, city and village had targets to aim for.
