Description
Studio portrait of 2849 Private (Pte) Harry Gordon Daniel, 9th Reinforcements, 8th Battalion, of Fairfield, Vic. Pte Daniel enlisted on 5 July 1915 and embarked aboard SS Makarini in Melbourne on 15 September 1915. He was aged nineteen and serving with the 59th Battalion when he was killed in action at Pozieres, France, on 19 July 1916. His uncle, 3760 Pte Harold Daniel MM was serving with the 5th Battalion also when he was killed in action in France on 10 August 1918.
