Portrait of 5339 Private (Pte) Earnest Baulch, 60th Battalion, of Bairnsdale, Vic. Pte Baulch was killed in action on 26 September 1917, during the battle for Polygon Wood. He has no known grave and is commemorated at the Oxford Road Cemetery, Ypres, Belgium. This photograph was taken approximately one week before Pte Baulch was killed.
