Smooth Finish: Record Speed
Description
British Second World War poster possibly aimed at RAF pilots, emphasising the importance of landing smoothly and taking care. The poster depicts the needle of a record player with a twin-engined light bomber depicted on it (an Avro Anson with incorrect engine cowlings). The centre of the record being played features the RAF roundel. The poster plays on the duality of the importance of both being gentle and smooth both when placing the needle on a record and when landing a plane.
