Poster advertising a film produced by the Australian War Memorial about Australian troops in the Great War. Proceeds of the film were to go to returned soldiers and the erection of the Roll of Honour at the Memorial. The film was completed before the outbreak of the Second World War; however, it was screened widely throughout Australia as a morale booster. At the bottom right corner of the poster is a circular inset portrait of Lieutenant George Dean Mitchell, MC, DCM, 10, 44 and 48 Btns AIF who provides the commentary. Lt Mitchell enlisted in September 1914, and returned to Australia in 1919. The poster uses the silhouetted background, font and layout that was characteristic of First World War posters. Title is placed against a black and yellow background, inset of Mitchell is in black and white. The footage used by Mitchell was from the collection of the Australian War Memorial.
