Slim River, a stop on the railway journey from Singapore to Bampong
Description
Prisoners being moved into railway carriages at Slim River, a stop on the railway journey fron Singapore to Bampong in Thailand in 1942. The journey took five days by rail, with thirty-two men crammed into cattle/goods trucks, in stifling heat and with little food or water. Many POWs were already sick with dysentery and malaria.
