Description
Studio portrait of 2841 Private (Pte) John McWilliam, 9th Reinforcements, 14th Battalion, of Riddell's Creek, Vic, aged 40 years. Pte McWilliam enlisted on 29 June 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hororata on 27 September 1915. He was killed in action on 11 August 1916 at Pozieres, France. His half brother Lieutenant Stirling Alexander McWilliam was killed in action at Walker's Ridge, Gallipoli on 30 May 1915.
