Description
Studio portrait of 2441 Private (Pte) Frederick James Argall, 4th Reinforcements, 29th Battalion, of Kiata, Vic. Pte Argall enlisted with his younger brother 2440 Pte Arthur William Argall (see DA13764 and DA13765) on 19 July 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Anchises in Melbourne on 14 March 1916. He was serving with the 46th Battalion when he was killed in action near Flers, France, on 14 November 1916. His death is commemorated at the Villers Bretonneux Memorial, France.
