Description
Studio portrait of either: 1516 Private (Pte) Edward King, 12th Reinforcements, 8th Light Horse Regiment, of Clifton Hill, Vic; or 3887 Pte Ernest King, 12th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of West Brunswick, Vic. 1516 Pte King enlisted on 13 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hawkes Bay on 21 October 1915. He returned to Australia on 2 January 1919. 3887 Pte King enlisted on 19 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic on 23 November 1915. He was killed in action on 25 August 1918 at St Martins Wood, France.
