Group portrait of four RAAF members and three RAF members from 1652 Conversion Unit. Back row from left to right: Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Foulkes, RAF; 434967 Flt Sgt John Neal Donald, RAAF of Townsville, Qld; Sergeant (Sgt) William James Robert Semple, RAF; 432779 Flt Sgt Clarence Frederick Ford, RAAF of Paddington, NSW. Front row from left: Sgt Leonard Alexander Cooke, RAF; 432034 Pilot Officer (PO) Norman Willie Neville Tanner, RAAF of Marrickville, NSW; 433107 Flt Sgt John Childe Hughes, RAAF of Glebe Point, NSW. Flt Sgt Donald, Sgt Semple, Flt Sgt Ford, Sgt Cooke, PO Tanner and Flt Sgt Hughes were accidentally killed over the North Sea on 5 April 1945 whilst undergoing final training on Halifax aircraft at Marston Moor, Yorkshire.
