Description
Studio portrait of 3992 Private (Pte) John William Henry Sherry, 9th Reinforcements, 24th Battalion, of Gippsland, Vic. Pte Sherry enlisted on 28 December 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Warilda in Melbourne on 8 February 1916. He was serving with the 10th Machine Gun Company at the Hindenburg Line in France when he was killed in action on 29 September 1918. See also DA13784.
