Description
Studio portrait of 4650 Private (Pte) Gottlieb Abraham Dietrich,14th Reinforcements, 14th Battalion, of Mirboo, Vic. Pte Dietrich enlisted on 28 January 1916 and embarked aboard HMAT Ballarat in Melbourne on 18 February 1918. He returned to Australia as a lance corporal on 17 February 1919. On 17 June 1919 he was awarded a Military Medal 'for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty near Ascension Wood on 18 September 1918.' Note he is wearing the badge which denotes that he is a qualified signaller on his right sleeve and his hat. See also DA13490.
