Description
Studio portrait probably of 2717 Private (Pte) Thomas Anderson, 8th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Ivanhoe, Vic. Pte Anderson enlisted on 10 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Makarini on 15 September 1915. He was killed in action on 20 August 1916 at Mouquet Farm, France. Pte Anderson's brother, 218 Sergeant James McKenzie Anderson, A Company, 5th Battalion, missing in action since 26 April 1915 at Gallipoli Penninsula, Turkey.
