Description
Studio portrait of Leading Stoker Percy Collier wearing a naval uniform. His tally band reads RMS Vernon. 1057 Private (Pte) Percy Collier, A Company, 30th Battalion, of Port Melbourne, Vic, enlisted on 19 July 1915 and embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Beltana on 9 November 1915. He was killed in action on 20 July 1916 at the Battle of Fromelles, France. This portrait was taken after his enlistment in the AIF.
