Tom Monger
Description
Garvey's cartoon portrait of Tom Monger, from a series of thirty-six pencil drawings made in Syria, Palestine and Lebanon in 1942 of members of 15 Platoon 'C' Company, 2/32 Battalion, Lebanon 1942. Monger, seen in right profile, wearing uniform, but no hat, has a bandaid on his nose. Thomas Edward Monger was born on 16 June 1918 in Beverley, WA. He enlisted in Claremont, WA on 18 December 1940 and was discharged on 7 February 1945. He served in the Army as a Private, service number WX10355.
