Mitsubishi A6M Reisen Aircraft Engine Valve
Description
Chromed engine valve from a Japanese Nakajima Sakae 14-cylinder engine fitted to a Mitsubishi A6M Reisen "Zero" naval fighter. The valve head has been chromed and highly polished. The valve stem is in its original condition and has extensive surface spot rust.
History / Summary
The engine valve came from a Nakajima Sakae engine used to power Mitsubishi A6M Reisen "Zero" naval fighters. The valve was found in a spare parts storage depot located in one of the caves used by Japanese forces in the Rabaul area during the Second World War.
