Description
See EN0257K for position of those named in this caption. The wife of General Krasnoff, the viceroy or Ataman of the Don Cossacks, in company with members of the Allied Mission to Russia and several Cossacks. Allied officers identified left to right: Commander Arthur George Hayes Bond; Russian Admiral Kononoff (mostly hidden); French Captain Cochin (back to camera); Engineer Lieutenant Commander George William Bloomfield. The Mission sought to investigate the situation of the Don Cossacks, who were defending their country in the eastern corner of the Ukraine against the Bolsheviks.
