Portrait of 24029 Able Seaman (AB) John Robinson Young, HMAS Cerberus, of Hughenden, Qld, behind the wheel of HMVS Nelson. AB Young later served with HMAS Sydney and was killed in action when she was sunk in the Indian Ocean on 19 November 1941 by the German Raider Kormoran. Built in 1816, HMVS Nelson was loaned to the Victorian Government as a training ship, and, in its heyday had three gun decks and 120 guns. She was scrapped in 1928.
