Studio portrait of 407 Private (Pte) John Michael Taylor, B Company, 29nd Battalion, of Cheltenham, Vic. Pte Taylor enlisted on 6 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ascanius on 10 November 1915. He was killed in action at the Battle of Fromelles, France, on 20 July 1916.
