Studio portrait of 932 Private (Pte) Roy Plowright, 24th Battalion in tropical uniform. A motor mechanic from Warrnambool, Vic prior to enlistment, Pte Plowright embarked with D Company from Melbourne on HMAT Euripides on 10 May 1915. On 4 October 1917, aged 21, he died of wounds received in action at Passchendaele, and was buried in the Godewaersvelde British Cemetery, France.
