Description
Depiction of wards H and I, 2nd Australian General Hospital. In the left foreground is a pile of road metal, in the middle distance a Red Cross and YMCA hut, and in the background is H ward surrounded by sand bags, providing protection against air raids. Artist's description: "View taken from front of Anglican Chapel looking towards Wards 'H' & 'I'. In foreground is heap of road metal. Middle distance is the Red Cross room with the gable end of Y.M.C.A. hut showing behind it. In distance is 'H' Ward surrounded by sandbagging as protection against air raids. At right left [angle] to R.C. room runs the main road of Hospital leading to the gate."
