Description
Depicts a head and shoulders portrait of a young British soldier, Private Albert Barker (No. 355751; B. Company, 7th Reserve, London Battery), "who was given the job of cutting up dressings for the operating theatres. A very young British soldier. He is our ward mascotte (sic) & earns his tucker by cutting up dressings for the theatre & by keeping the wards alive. He hails from Peckham." (Artist's description)
