Madame P an old French lady
Description
Depicts a head and shoulders portrait of 'Madame P', an elderly French lady "of eighty, who lives in the centre of the bombed area in Boulogne. Being paralysed in both legs it was impossible to take her down to the cellar so she stayed in the top flat. During the frequent air raids she showed great courage & was usually the calmest in the room." (Artist's description)
