Informal portrait of S/4162 Able Seaman (AB) Frederick 'Fred' John Delbridge, RAN, flanked by his mates Ted (left) and George (right), both in civilian dress, at Araluen, WA. AB Delbridge later died when his ship, HMAS Perth, was sunk by Japanese torpedoes in the early hours of 1 March 1942, whilst attempting to force a passage through the Sunda Strait.
