Smith, Charles Granville (Corporal, b.1881 - d.1951)
Description
Eight letters written by 1084 Corporal Charles Granville Smith to his family from December 1916-April 1918. Smith served with a trench mortar unit, 2 Division in France and Belgium during the First World War. The letters are addressed to his wife, Alice 'Pet' Smith and one letter of 21 November 1917 describes in detail a gas attack on the Belgium Front.
